This past November a very good client of C and L Designs who is a top official at Hospice of Southern California (socalhospicefoundation.com) asked me to help with a “Make a Wish” for Thomas E, a 56 year old man with only weeks to live.
She knew of my background in music, instrumentally and in songwriting. I was honored just to be asked.
Thomas had written some wonderful words and put a melody to it, my part was to write the music, hire the musicians and background singers, and then arrange for the recording studio.
My journey began as I was sent a link to a video of Thomas singing his song to the nursing staff, this is all I had to work off.
It took 48 hours to finish writing and arranging the music!
The instrumental tracks were immediately recorded, then the following Monday Thomas was brought by Southern California Hospice Ambulatory Service to the Los Angeles recording studio to hear his “Wish” put to music, then to record the song in his own voice.
Thomas’ final wish had come true and I was honored to be asked to be a part of it.
