Unlike in previous years the white finish has now become the leader in 2014. Cabinetry produced in a white paint had been looked on as a cheep closet type look. This is partially because a good majority of home builders during the housing boom used Melamine and Thermo-Foil in Prefabricated Kitchens if new home projects called for a white Kitchen or hallway cabinet.
With websites such as “Houzz” the transition has begun.
2014 for us has had a 40% increase in White/Swiss coffee finish on all installed cabinets and in all areas (Kitchen,office,window-seat,etc).
“Houzz” showcases many New England style homes. These homes have more of a quaint cottage, a bright and airy feeling, and a more brilliant wall coloring. In addition we are seeing a spike in Bead Board, in Inset Shaker style doors and drawers, and also more opening shelving.
C and L Designs when designing a white units will only use solid maple face-frames and moldings. We go the extra mile and have a precision cut made, a Vein-Line as a stress relief point in doors,drawers and face-frames. This assures our clients that cracking of paint in the maple joints will not occur.
